About the show:
“FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2019 – SUSTAINABLE STYLE – Doors Open 6:45 pm – SHOW @ 7:30 pm – Location Historical , The Biddle Theatre at Johnson C. Smith, 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Sustainable Style – A Fashion Show to raise global awareness for a socially, environmentally and sustainability. Designers will create a collection with UPcycled Clothing and the people (attendees) will vote for their favorite collection. The fashion industry is notorious for its massive waste problem; the big business is frequently called out for being one of the largest polluters globally. Nearly three-fifths of all clothing ends up in incinerators or landfills within a year of being produced. Beyond this, the Environmental Protection Agency found in 2014 that there were 15.1 million tons of textile waste, of which 12.8 million were discarded completely, while the average American throws away 70 pounds of clothing and other textiles each year. So let’s take the unused, unwanted clothing and make a fabulous collection and make a difference.”

P.S. The winner of the show is chosen by audience participation so come show your support!
